When do I put out my barrel?
Routes start early so you should have your barrel out by 6:00 am on the day of collection for your location. Most people seem to roll them out the night before.
Where do I place the barrel?
Please roll the barrel out near the street within 2 feet of the curb and free of obstructions like mailboxes, shrubbery or your recycle bin. This is because the truck’s lifting mechanism needs to wrap around the barrel to grab it.
How much can I put in the barrel?
Do not overfill your container, but it is okay for the barrel's lid to be raised up. To accommodate everyone’s trash and recycling, any large quantities should be held for later pickups or call.
What if I have too much garbage?
Remember, it is okay for the barrel's lid to be raised up. But if there is still too much, place extra bags next to the barrel and the driver will manually get them into the truck. There is an extra charge per bag that will be added to your next bill. If you consistently have too much, call to see if there is a larger barrel size available in your area. If you just have way too much at one time, consider a dumpster or rolloff container.
What types of items can I put in the barrel?
Regular household trash that is not recyclable or hazardous. See also Recycling and Hazardous Waste for additional details.
What if I put it out too late?
If you can't wait for next week, call to find out the charge for an extra pickup.
What if my barrel is missed by the pickup?
Call us and we will arrange to have it picked up as soon as possible.
What is the number on my barrel for?
The number identifies your specific barrel. It’s a good idea to record your barrel number in case it gets lost or damaged. There could a charge depending on the circumstances, but not for normal wear and tear of course. |
